Bristol’s home for bonsai since 1975
Bonsai is a practice that rewards curiosity, patience, and a willingness to keep learning. The Bristol Bonsai Society has been bringing together people who share that spirit for over 50 years.
Our members range from those picking up their first tree to those who have spent decades developing their craft. What unites everyone is a genuine enthusiasm for the art form and a willingness to share what they know.
If you have ever been curious about bonsai, a club meeting is the best possible introduction. Come along, see what we do, and talk to people who care deeply about it.

Monthly meetings
We meet every month at Failand Village Hall for workshops, species talks, demonstrations, and critique nights. Every meeting is different, and every meeting is worth coming to.
All experience levels
You do not need a tree, any prior knowledge, or any commitment to visit. Our membership includes complete beginners and experienced growers, and the atmosphere is always open and welcoming.
An active community
From our annual show to weekend workshops with visiting guest speakers, there is always something happening in the Bristol bonsai community. Members also bring their trees along to club nights for display and feedback.
Upcoming Meetings
The best way to understand what the Bristol Bonsai Society is about is to come to a meeting.
Visitors are always welcome, and you will not be expected to bring a tree, have any prior experience, or commit to anything.
Just send us an email to say you are coming along, see what we do, and talk to people who share a genuine enthusiasm for one of the world’s most compelling art forms.
