September 2026 – Long Ashton Show

The Bristol Bonsai Society was recently invited to display at the Long Ashton Village Flower Show, bringing a selection of members’ trees to a wider audience for the day.

The display drew a steady stream of visitors, with plenty of curiosity and no shortage of questions. The age of the trees proved a particular talking point, alongside how bonsai are created and, perhaps most frequently, where on earth they live when they are not at a flower show.

It is always a pleasure to share the art form with people who have never encountered it up close before, and events like this are a reminder of just how much interest there is in bonsai beyond the club room.
